Infrastructure Works Around Westfield Newmarket

posted in: Latest News 0

You will have noticed a significant number of roading and access challenges around Newmarket lately.

Work is being undertaken to upgrade services and improve the utilities network around Newmarket.

New Traffic Lights and Pedestrian Interchange. As of Monday 16 October vehicles will once again be able to turn right from Gillies Avenue into Mortimer Pass. The number of road cones will also be significantly reduced. The new traffic lanes and signalling will be completed by early December.

Mortimer Pass Changes. From Monday 16 October there will be no access to Broadway from Mortimer Pass for approximately three weeks. Instead vehicles using Westfield Newmarket, Highwic House and Farmers will be re-routed through Coventry Lane to Broadway.

This is due to stormwater pit installation, relocation of gas lines and the creation of a new waste water system at the Broadway/Mortimer Pass junction.

Carparks will remain open at Westfield 277 and Farmers. You can continue to enter and exit the car park at either Mortimer Pass or Morrow Street.

Expect some delays at peak times.
