You may have noticed that a major project of work has begun in St Vincent Avenue, just behind the Remuera Library. Scaffolding now encases St Pauls Methodist Church beginning a 6 month seismic strengthening project of the 1922 church building and tower. The construction work is being carried out by Aspec Construction, including a rebuilt of the roof that will take place under a white plastic wrap that will soon encase the building.
The two congregations that conduct Sunday services – Methodist and Chinese Methodist – will do so in the lounge and Hall building still accessible behind the Church. Regular users are able to continue to use the Hall and its facilities, but onsite parking is not available during the construction period.
