WEBINARS

Due to COVID-19, our usual face-to-face community events have been replaced with seven online information sessions, or webinars, for Aucklanders. These will be 90-minute sessions where Aucklanders ask questions about the proposed Emergency Budget.

Five of the webinars will be targeted towards subregions, and will focus on the proposed average general rates increase.

The other two webinars will be topic-based for the Rates Postponement Policy and Accommodation Provider Targeted Rates.

Please see the schedule for these webinars below. Aucklanders can register to attend these webinars on the Webinar webpage

WATERCARE

In Auckland Council’s Annual Plan, the proposed price rises for water, wastewater and infrastructure growth charges were 2.5 per cent, 3.3 per cent and 3 per cent respectively. However, last month, Watercare’s board agreed to limit price rises to 2.5 per cent. This is aligned with Auckland Council’s minimum proposed rates increase.

Watercare says Capping the increase at 2.5 per cent is about acknowledging the widespread financial strain of Covid-19 on our customers, while ensuring we can continue to invest in essential water and wastewater infrastructure for our growing city.
