Subject: FW: Auckland Transport is seeking feedback: Remuera Road, Remuera – Raised Signalised Crossing [VRU2022-036] . Look it up on https://at.govt.nz/about-us/have-your-say/central-auckland-consultations/
This is to inform you that Auckland Transport started engagement today to install a raised, signalised pedestrian crossing outside 576 Remuera Road to improve road safety, as there have been 16 reported crashes along this section of Remuera Road in the last 5 years. The proposed crossing is raised, meaning that drivers will have to slow down when approaching the crossing. The crossing is also signalised, which allows pedestrians to cross safely when drivers are stopped at the red light, giving them right of way.
Below is a map and attached to this email is the letter that will be sent to the public and detailed drawing showing the proposed changes. This letter will be delivered to local residents and businesses affected by the proposal within the next week. This information will also be published on our website along with an online feedback survey.
Public engagement opens online on Monday 16 May 2022 and closes on Monday 30 May 2022. Here is a link to the project on the Auckland Transport website: https://at.govt.nz/about-us/have-your-say/

Remuera Road, Remuera – Pedestrian Improvements
Proposal status: Feedback open until 8 March 2022 (but still on consultation website)
Reference number: RSU2021-021
We are proposing to:
- Install a signalised pedestrian crossing (a crossing controlled by traffic lights with a push button for people who need to cross the road) west of the Remuera Road and Waiatarua Road intersection. This crossing will also be on top of a raised table, which is a speed bump with a flat section in the middle.
