Public Consultation – Survey feedback awaited.

Earlier this month, Remuera Residents were invited to participate in an on-line survey regarding four local community facilities in the Orakei Local Board area – including the Community Centre at 4 Victoria Avenue Remuera.

Driven by the Orakei Local Board and Auckland Council, the purpose of the survey was to explore future needs and opportunities for community activities, programmes and facilities in the Remuera, Orakei and Meadowbank areas.

The survey was publicised and conducted by an independent research company, who posted an explanatory mail-out to all addresses in our area. Responses were anonymous.

As back up, we sent an explanatory newsflash containing a survey link to all residents on our email address list.

With a cut-off date of 24 February, the time-frame for this exercise was very tight. Feedback on the survey structure and process was conveyed to a representative of the research company on 21 February at a meeting of your Remuera Residents Association Committee. It was emphasised that Remuera residents wanted proper consultation on the future of 4 Victoria Avenue – and the improved facilities identified at our public meeting on 15 November last year.

We await feedback on the survey findings.
