Auckland Council’s Annual Plan & Budget for 2017/18 is being formulated.
The Governing Body, Local Board, and other entities will be making decisions in the next two months based on feedback provided by residents.
We urge you to take the time to read the Consultation Document (go to Library for hard copy or follow link here ) and then complete the online feedback form here.
Desley Simpson, our ward Councillor on the Governing Body has advised that she will be guided by the feedback of all residents within the Orakei area – so your votes & comments will count.
The Key Issues are:
- Rate Increases: Options 3.5%, 2.5%, or 2 % …. plus comment
- Rating Stability: Different increases for Residential and Business ratepayers
- Paying for tourism promotion: Introduce a targeted accommodation rate?
- Paying for housing infrastructure: add a targeted rate to new development areas
- Paying council staff a living wage: additional increases for 2,200 staff
The deadline for feedback is 4 pm on Monday 27 March.
