Living in a Retirement Village – Informative Free Seminar, 4 May.

posted in: Latest News 0

The Commission for Financial Capability will be running a free public education seminar on Thinking of Living in a Retirement Village on Thursday 4 May at St Chads Anglican Church, Meadowbank, starting at 6pm.

This seminar is targeted at people who may be thinking of retirement villages as their future accommodation option. Support or family members may also find it interesting, and are welcome to attend.

The seminar is not a marketing event of any kind. Rather, it will focus on things to consider before choosing to live in a retirement village and on practical tips before signing up to live in a retirement village. It will also explain some important resident’s rights and where more information can be found.

This event will last around 90 minutes, with dedicated opportunities for Q and A throughout.

Registered attendees will receive the Commission’s targeted hard copy booklet about living in retirement villages – and are invited to attend early for tea and light refreshments before the seminar starts.

The seminar will be led by Troy Churton, the Commission’s National Manager Retirement Villages, supported by a local legal practitioner experienced in retirement village matters.

Places are limited but there are still some seats left – so if you’re interested, do register right away! This event is free, but only registered delegates may attend.

Registration is easily done on-line, at the relevant link below, or by ringing the Commission’s call centre: at 0800 268 269.
