Redevelopment.. 411-413 Remuera Road

The building and shop-frontage at 411-413 Remuera Road is being redeveloped and there has been much interest in the structure that is to take its place. Concerns have been voiced that the redeveloped building might be out of keeping with the heritage feel of the existing streetscape.
We’ve received this architect’s illustration of the planned structure, which we think will please most observers. Key features are an increase in floor size and the addition of a third floor, creating shops, offices and residential accommodation. We understand that much of the existing facade is to be preserved and integrated into the new structure. The result – as illustrated – seems to blend commendably well with surrounding buildings and presents as quite a neat exercise in urban renewal.
