St Kentigern Proposed Development on Shore Road site (update to story published 1 December 2017)

The St Kentigern Trust Board has created stakeholder reference groups as part of the engagement process. Reference group chairs (listed below) have organised meetings this month and each reference group will be presenting to the Trust Board.

In addition to input from the reference groups, the board continues to encourage comments and contribution via their dedicated web portal or email buildingfutures@saintkentigern.com.

  • Boys’ School: Mr Greg Horton
  • Girls’ School: Mrs Rebecca Scoones
  • Preschool: Mr James Smith
  • Pakuranga Campus: Mrs Desiree Thompson

Comments are requested by March 2018. The Trust Board will consider all feedback and update all stakeholders on the process in early March, and aims to advise of decisions about the proposed master plan in April.

Myrtle Rust in Remuera (update to story published 21 December 2017)

There are currently 34 recorded myrtle rust sites in Auckland, including 27 in Remuera and Greenlane.

Wairua Reserve in Remuera was the first council reserve to be confirmed as having myrtle rust infected trees. MPI removed the diseased branches of three pōhutukawa to reduce the risk of further spread. No further action is required at this time.

Myrtle rust is a serious fungal disease that affects plants in the myrtle family. Plants in this family include the iconic pōhutukawa, mānuka and rātā as well as some common garden plants such as ramarama and lillypilly. If you think you’ve seen myrtle rust, don’t touch it, take a photo, and call 0800 80 99 66.
